Teaching and Training

Holmhurst Medical Centre is proud to have become an accredited training practice providing advanced training for doctors who wish to become General Practitioners.  Our GP Registrars are fully qualified doctors who have already worked for 2 or more years in hospitals.  They will work with us for between 4 and 12 months and share all aspects of medical care.  Please accept their services as an extension of our own.

We are also fortunate to have Foundation doctors (FY2’s) who are fully qualified, and are spending their final year of medical education in the community. All their consultations are supervised by one of our doctors.

Additionally, from time to time, we host Medical Students form Brighton and Sussex Medical School.  They attend joint consultations with our doctors as part of their training.  Whilst we hope that you will feel able to co-operate with us in giving these students this valuable experience, you do have the choice.  So, please do not feel embarrassed to say that you do not wish a medical student to be present when you see the doctor, if this is how you feel.
